Junk.com Supports Back-to-School Shoe Drive

Back-to-School Shoe Drive in Miami, FL

As families in South Florida geared up to head back to school, Junk.com in Miami joined a coalition of local partners, including  T-Mobile, City National Bank, CBS Miami, and CW 33, to support a key mission: Getting shoes on the feet of kids in need across Miami-Dade and Broward Counties. 

The “Step Into School” community shoe drive was led by Neighbors 4 Neighbors in partnership with In Jacob’s Shoes. People in the community were encouraged to bring new and gently used shoes to participating T-Mobile stores and City National Bank branches throughout South Florida. Once shoes were collected, Junk.com’s teams and trucks stepped in to handle the pickup and delivery of shoe donations to In Jacob’s Shoes. 

Collected shoes were then cleaned, refurbished if necessary, and then distributed to families in need throughout South Florida.

Working to Better the South Florida Community

Thousands of pairs of shoes were collected throughout the back-to-school season, and Junk.com supplied crucial support to help maximize the impact of the drive. By picking up and delivering the shoe donations, Junk.com helped make the “Step Into School” drive a smash success.

Nicole Turturici, CEO of Junk.com, said giving back to the community is just part of the Junk.com mission.

“Shoes can be a big-ticket item that many families struggle to afford, especially with kids growing so quickly,” said Turturici. “Being part of this effort means we’re helping put shoes directly onto the feet of kids who need them most.”
